All of us at St Cloud Rescue want to thank everyone again for the generous donations we received for Holly the diabetic part Saint Bernard female.
We wanted to give everyone an update of where we are with her health issues.
Holly has went from 58lbs to now 78 lbs! Which is a great improvement! We are still having issues in regulating her insulin needs. We have made progress, but she still has episodes where her numbers tank dramatically. We have not found the correct correlation to regulate her insulin’s intake Continuously. We have a wonderful lady that has been helping us care for Holly. She is taking Holly to her vet which has more experience in managing diabetics in dogs. Holly does still have episodes of crashing that is unpredictable.
Holly did get spayed which we were told by several vets was needed to help regulate her insulin needs. Being a diabetic, her incision is taking much longer to heal. We are making progress.
For the first time since Holly was rescued she had learned how to do zoomies in the yard and for the first time we heard her bark this week! She has become more comfortable with her new home life and feels more secure.
The next step in Holly medical needs is to tackle her cataracts in her eyes so she isn’t blind. We know she can see objects but still has issues running into things due to her lack of sight.
Thank you all for being part of Holly’s journey with us so she is able yo live a normal life as a dog very much loved.
The difference in her before and after pictures is amazing!
